Giang tốt nghiệp chương trình Tiến sĩ Khoa học Quản lý, chuyên ngành Tài chính của trường Đại học Paris - Dauphine, sau khi có bằng Thạc sĩ Tài chính và bằng cử nhân Kinh tế ứng dụng chuyên ngành Tài chính cũng của trường Đại học Paris-Dauphine, Pháp.

Lĩnh vực nghiên cứu của TS. Giang bao gồm điều tiết ngân hàng, quản trị doanh nghiệp, tài chính doanh nghiệp, và tài chính giáo dục.
