Abstract
Agribank is the largest commercial bank in Vietnam credit institution system whose charter capital is 100% state-owned. In 1988, Agribank was spun off from SBV to became one of the four state-owned commercial banks. The bank at first focused on lending to agriculture, then expanded to other sectors. From early 1990 to mid 2000, Agribank accounted for about 20% of total assets and 30% of outstanding lending of the entire credit system.
