Abstract
According to figures brought out by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam in July 2007, the number of motorcycles circulating in Vietnam is 20.2 million. This means that on average across the whole country, one out of every 2.7 inhabitants from 15 to 64 years old uses a motorbike. From 1991 to 2007, the number of motorcycles nationwide has increased by an average of 17.5% per year. This has come about as the result of increasing incomes and the pace of economic growth alongside marked decreases in the prices of motorcycles due to trade liberalization and the continuing absence of an efficient public transportation system..Pages:
