Abstract
From Oct. to the end of 2011, VND25.848 trillion were withdrawn from the three merged banks. SBV had to recapitalize through special lending up to VND16 trillion to ensure liquidity while SCB was merging. On Dec. 31, 2011, SBV recapitalization lending to the post-merging SCB was VND18.134 trillion or 1.6 times its equity. On secondary or interbank market, the merged SCB was also a net borrower to BIDV and other credit institutions at VND26.651 trillion, or about 34% total mobilization on the primary market.
