The Lower Mekong Public Policy Initiative (LMPPI) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It is housed at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM) (formerly the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program - FETP) Ho Chi Minh City, a center for public policy teaching and research managed by the Vietnam Program. During its three-year project cycle, LMPPI’s primary goal will be to facilitate knowledge generation, learning, and dialogue on public policies which promote economic development that is ecologically sustainable and improves livelihoods in the five countries of the Lower Mekong (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar). The LMPPI was conceived as an effort to strengthen the Fulbright School’s capacity to engage in multidisciplinary research, teaching and policy dialogue activities focused on the complex nexus development challenges facing the countries of the Lower Mekong region in the context of environmental change.

The LMPPI is inviting applications for Internship Program.

The duration of the internship: 8 weeks

Field of Internship: The LMPPI Internship Program shall provide opportunities for graduate students to gain working experience and work in a professional environment through the project activities. The requirements of this position shall be based on our current operational needs.

Eligibility: Internship candidates should meet the following conditions.

  • being graduates or enrolled in a Master level in one of the following programs: agriculture economics, environmental economics, environmental science, water management, natural resources management and energy policy;
  • possessing a good command of English; and
  • having experience relevant to the assignment.
