December 10, 2019

In Dec 10, 2019, the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management at Fulbright University Vietnam, joined force with the Vietnam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG) to host a session on the optimal future energy mix for Viet Nam at the 3rd High-level Meeting and 1st Stakeholder Forum of the Viet Nam Energy Partnership Group. The session addresses what Vietnam can learn from the international best practice for its transition process towards a sustainable, reliable and affordable power sector; the implications the development of clean energy sources and improved energy efficiency efforts have for the socio-economic development and for environment, climate and public health; and opportunities and challenges for private sectors to take part in the energy transition process.

Professor David Dapice, a well-known Vietnamese expert and long-time colleague of FSPPM, delivered a keynote speech. Dr Le Viet Phu chaired the session and moderated a panel discussion which focused the just released Vietnam Energy Outlook Report 2019 and upcoming power development planning in Vietnam.
