Orientation, MPP Class of 2015-2017

October 09, 2015

At the Fulbright School, there were many events this summer. MPP6 students graduated, and the policy workshops were attended by MPP7 students for completing their theses in the Fall term. In the new academic year, MPP8 students, from nearly thirty provinces around the country, will be welcomed in the orientation session on 5/10/2015.

The Fulbright School's two-year Master in Public Policy (MPP) program is designed to equip Vietnamese professionals with strong intellectual foundations in policy analysis, development theory, and public sector management. Through coursework and research, students learn to assess the key elements and perspectives of public policy, design actionable solutions to policy challenges, and develop the organizational capacity needed to implement these solutions.

MPP8 students are young professionals who have at least three years' working experience in central and local state governance, finance, banking, enterprises, journalism, education, and non-government organizations. With the diversity of the experience, the approaches to policy issues from different perspectives are expected from and applied in classes by MPP8 students, which will help recommend more feasible policy options. "At the Fulbright School, I was exposed to a professional, high standard learning environment. The faculty introduced a set of theories that helped me understand and solve problems through case studies, while also honing my critical thinking and analytical skills. At the Fulbright School, knowledge  and experience are also shared and gathered among classmates from different backgrounds, professions and regions. In my opinion, Fulbright is the best place for those with determination and desire to be successful in their chosen careers". Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - Assistant to the Management Vietnam Airlines Corporation, MPP6 student, said.

For Thanh Huong and other MPP students, the MPP program of the Fulbright School has become the most appropriate "launch pad" for future leaders, be them in public or private sector.
