As a Senior Research Fellow at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM), Dr. Nam Huynh provides assistance to the Dean of FSPPM for the satisfactory progress and successful completion of the big urban data analytics project funded by the Vingroup Innovation Foundation. He also assists in outlining an agenda for policy-related data intensive research at FSPPM, and in identifying prospective funding sources for these research projects.

Before joining Fulbright University Vietnam, Nam has a decade working in academia and government in Australia developing data analytics and simulation models of urban infrastructure systems for government and industry-funded projects.

During his stint at Transport for New South Wales (NSW, Australia) from 2017 to 2018, Dr. Nam oversaw the delivery of strategic transport models in supporting public transport planning for the Sydney Greater Metropolitan Area.

Prior to that, he led the Infrastructure Simulation and Modelling Research Group at the SMART Infrastructure Facility, University of Wollongong Australia (UoW). Under his leadership SMART extensively partnered with agencies in the NSW Government (Australia) and Australian universities in critical transport related projects for urban rail logistics, demographics projection, urban travel demand, and traffic emission.

He's an Honorary Fellow at SMART since 2017.

Nam holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Engineering Practice degree (with Distinction) in Mechatronics, both from UoW, and a Bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City.
