FSPPM launches Fulbright Review of Economics and Policy

January 19, 2021

Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management is pleased to announce the launch of Fulbright Review of Economics and Policy, an international journal to be published on the platform of Emerald Publishing. FREP is an academic, peer-reviewed, open-access journal which publishes theoretical and empirical results in all the areas of economics and public policy.

FREP, by its name, chooses to focus on two distinctive fields of research: economics and public policy. Economics is a highly theoretical field of inquiry tapping into large datasets and utilizes sophisticated mathematical formulas in its approach. On the other hand, public policy explores more realistic problems making use of analytical observations in policies, law, and institutions which directly impact people’s lives.

FREP aims to make the connection between these two fields by integrating theoretical findings in economics to seek effective policy solutions and providing empirical evidence for policy prescriptions. Papers covering global, regional or local topics that are of wide policy significance are particularly encouraged. In addition, FREP attempts to create a forum for idea exchange in emerging knowledge frontiers, for example, green economics, urban economics, resource economics, public finance, trade and globalization, etc.

Editor-in-chief of the journal features Dr. Le Thai Ha, Research Director of Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management. FREP is supported by exceptional Editorial & Advisory Board (EAB), including outstanding professors from top-notch universities worldwide like James E. Anderson (Boston College – USA), Anh Tran (Indiana University – USA), Terry Buss (National Academy of Public Administration – USA), Ian Coxhead (University of Wisconsin-Madison – USA), Cuong Le-Van (Paris School of Economics – France), Eddy Malesky (Duke University – USA), Dwight Perkins (Harvard University – USA), Binh Tran-Nam (University of New South Wales, Australia) and many more.

As a member of NASPAA network, FSPPM is committed to building an open and constructive forum for policy dialogue in Vietnam and the region through excellent academic research in fields of inquiry of great importance to social lives.

All articles reviewed and published on FREP are under Open Access agreement, by which authors are obliged to no publication costs and public readers have the right to access, download and distribute all published articles on FREP at no cost.
