HAPPY VIETNAM TEACHERS’ DAY 20-11

November 20, 2019

"TEACHERS' SUCCESS IS TO HAVE STUDENTS OUTPERFORM US" - This is Dean Tu Anh's message in his talk at Fulbright School's celebration on November 20 (Teachers' Day).

"Today is a national holiday when celebration takes place all over the country. In Vietnam, today is the occasion to honor our teachers' efforts, but in U.S. where I pursued my education at graduate levels, there's no such anniversary. Despite cultural differences, the spirit of learning & teaching and knowledge prevail. That said, the essence of Novmeber 20 is not only to pay tribute to our teachers but to honor true values of learning, knowledge and education."

At Fulbright, this date is an opportunity to get together and reconnect with current and past students, sing along music tunes, laugh at jokes. There's no fixed agenda, long speeches and cliché.

The learning journey takes a lifetime to travel for both students and teachers. November 20 is only a date to reflect on past achivements and look forward to future objectives.

"In the current situation of education system, there are still many things left to be done and we assume partial responsibility for advocating these reforms, henceforth we feel more deserved with praises."

Concluding the celebration, Dr. Tu Anh noted: "I wish Fulbright students achieve greater success than us. This is teachers' desire to see you grow up and resonate Fulbright values to our communities and advance our society to next levels. As lecturers, we fail if our students could not make greater strides than previous generations."
