On 20 September 2018, Dr. Vu Thanh Tu Anh, Director of Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, Fulbright University Vietnam, attended "kick-off workshop" on Vietnam's New Growth Model during 2021-2030 in Hanoi.

The workshop is co-organized by World Bank and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), hosting 25 participants from 4 research groups and 7-10 external experts. The workshop focuses on discussing and consolidating research directions on Vietnam's growth model.

At the workshop, Dr. Tu Anh spoke about the role of innovation in Vietnam's economic growth during 2021-2030. Dr. Tu Anh's talk emphasizes the role of innovation as an important factor driving Vietnam's growth in the new era. On the other hand, Dr. Tu Anh presented multiple evidence of restricted fundamental conditions at Vietnam which falls behind other successful countries in the region. Following this conclusion, Dr. Tu Anh suggested Vietnam should focus on innovation adoption rather than innovation creation.
