On 2nd December 2019, the 7th Vietnam Executive Leadership Program (VELP) 2019 kicked off their first working day at Harvard University, Boston, U.S.

Starting from 2008 as an initiative cooperated by Havrard Kennedy School of Government (HKS) and Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM), VELP is a high-profile policy forum for Vietnam top leaders and international experts to discuss current global trends relevant to Vietnam future prospects.

15 Vietnam delegates are led by H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission. Admist a complicated and a challenging global situation, VELP 2019 is concerned with how to make Vietnam stronger – politically, economically and technologically.

Speakers at the program include scholarly experts from Harvard University such as Prof. Jason Furman, Former Chairman of Council of Economic Advisers under Obama administration and Prof. Anthony Saich, Director of Ash Center and a well-known commentator on China. VELP 2019 also highlights the participation of senior practitioners from U.S. tech giants, i.e. Google, Facebook, Amazon on digital transformation and its implications for public sector.

Leading experts's discussions on how to promote FDI investments in high-tech, cloud technology, cyber security and improved public service delivery enabled by digital transformation provided original insights and practical perspectives and help Vietnam policy makers to be prepared for future policy challenges.
