Executive Programs in Leadership And Management

On 23rd November 2018, in Hanoi, Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management – Fulbright University Vietnam collaborated with Department of Foreign Affairs – Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially launched an executive training program and policy dialogue on "Economic Development in the context of Integration: Real-world challenges and the role of leadership" with the participation of 62 women leaders from provinces, cities and some institutions directly under MoFA who are in charge of diplomatic responsibilities at their organizations. The program is sponsored by Coca Cola Beverages Vietnam Ltd.

In his opening remark for the course, Bui Thanh Son, Standing Deputy Minister of MoFA, believed that the course is practical and essential to address domestic reform realities, the impact of deepening global economic integration and unpredictable international politics volatility. Mr. Son emphasized building skills and capabilities for female leaders in provinces, cities and foreign affairs institutions is crucial in improving their performance at work as well as empower them in leadership roles. The opening ceremony proudly received Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long – Director of Foreign Affairs Department, Ms. Le Tu Cam Ly – Legal and Public Affairs Director, Indochina, Coca Cola Beverages Vietnam Ltd.

Lecturers enriched the training program with valuable knowledge and participants actively engage in discussions and policy dialogue. Topics covered in the training are (1) Global integration and issues in foreign affairs, (2) International trade integration, industrial revolution 4.0: opportunities and challenges for Vietnam, (3) Challenges in regional economic development and (4) Leadership issues in public sectors.

The course ended on 24th November 2018. In the closing ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga highly appreciated the cooperation between Fulbright School and MoFA in initiating and hosting a professional training program which is well suited to participants' needs and current context. The Ambassador urged the two sides to strengthen their relationship for long-term objectives of enhancing comprehensive capabilities for leaders and managers who are in charge of foreign affairs.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Director of Foreign Affairs Department expressed his gratitude to Fulbright School and Coca Cola Vietnam for coordinating the program as well as active participation of participants. On closing the course, Mr. Long promised that Foreign Affairs Department will continue working closely with Fulbright School in the long run to train and enhance MoFA and provincial leaders and officials. In the near future, the two organizations will build a comprehensive training schedule for the coming 2019.
