Associate Professor, J.D. Pham Duy Nghia

Law Faculty & Fulbright Economics Teaching Program, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

Public Security Publishing House 2014

The book is structured into 9 chapters. Chapter 1 discusses concepts and significance of law research. Chapter 2 to Chapter 6 present issues involved in conducting a legal research: Research Methodology, Theoretical Framework, Social Science Research Methodology, Choosing and Stating Research Questions, Literature Review and Proposal Development, etc. The remaining chapters (Chapter 7-9) guide readers on Academic Research Writing Skills, Presentation Skills, and Research Ethics in Law Studies.

The book aims to help legal research practitioners sharpen their research skills. Consequently, instead of trying to complete the book at once by reading from Chapter 1 to Chapter 9, readers are advised to stop at any page and put what they read into practice. If you are a law student, the handbook is essential to explore legal theories through which you learn how to analyze written laws and court proceedings, identify legal issues, consider solutions and advocate for your choice.
